Time for a new winter look? Why not go wild and channel your inner-Delevingne? Use the changing season as an excuse to experiment and throw a few wild pieces together. Dig out your leather and plaid, root through your old graphic print tees and baseball caps and try a new multi-layered look. Add goofy poses, a bit of bling and big big eyebrows for a dash of Delevingne glamour. The girl loves a onesie, too!
So for anyone who’s been living on the MOON for the past year, Cara Delevingne (pronounced della-veen) is twenty one and the hottest property to stride out of London since supermodel Kate Moss. With her trademark eyebrows, edgy rebellious style and goofball antics, it’s no wonder she has the fashion world, Twitter, Instagram and even Harry Styles at her feet right now. She counts Rihanna and Rita Ora amongst her BFFs, and she’s walked the runway for everyone from Burberry to Fendi.
…And to top it all off, she’s a total Sloane. Cara’s 100% Chelsea. Coming from an aristocratic background (her mother Pandora was a King’s Road it-girl and her great-grandfather was a Viscount who hung out with Princess Margaret) and the youngest of three sisters, Cara’s upbringing was pure British upper crust. Born and bred in super-smart Belgravia, Cara was educated at exclusive Bedales School in Hampshire, a boarding school known for raising creative, liberal and rebellious Brits like Lily Allen. Her middle sister Poppy is also a model, and her eldest sister Chloe a regular on the elite London social scene.
Cara’s loud, proud outfits reflect her equally fearless personality, and she gets as much attention off the catwalk as on. She’s roller skated down the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret and modelled opposite British hottie and star of Les Miserables Eddie Redmayne in Burberry’s S/S 2012 campaign. She did a shoot with Pharell Williams for British Vogue in September and is known for her clowning around backstage at fashion shows the world over. Go on and google her: you won’t struggle to find at least a couple of snaps of her with eyes crossed and tongue out.
In recent months she’s been snapped wearing everything from balaclavas, leather skinny jeans and Bart Simpson print sweaters to Nike Air Force 1s, beanies in every conceivable color, and Timberland boots. She’s all about the big statement tees, leather and plaid, Henry Holland shades, studs and nerdy backpacks, too. In short, her style is totally indefinable and we love her all the more for that. Never trashy, always confident.
