Festive Party Attire – Sloane Ranger Style

Jingle Bells! The holiday season draws ever nearer, Sloanies! The invitations are starting to drop through our letterboxes for Christmas parties and New Years’ shindigs, and big nights out are being planned left, right and centre for the month of December. This is a time for catching up with old friends and dearest family members too – it’s a big season on the Sloanie social calendar, and we want to look and feel our sparkling best whether we’re out for a big family dinner or dancing away with our girls on NYE.

All that Glitters

This is a trend collaboration that’ll never go out of style: Christmas, and glitter. And no, it needn’t look tacky if you do it like a Sloanie. Dresses that might feel a little OTT any other time of the year are fair game throughout the season of yuletide, adding an extra sense of sparkle to any special occasion. Go for a slinky sequin maxi for that black tie dinner, or strut your sparkle on your pencil skirt with a simple camisole for something more smart-casual. Go on – break out those sequins and shine, you star!

Metallic Shades

But if a full-on sequin look is too much for you, complement those bright Christmas lights with some deep metallic shades. Sharp metallic trousers look smoking hot with a pair of killer heels, Peter Pan collar blouse and a faux fur vest. A little glittery accent on your smoking slipper is another chic nod to the festive season for dinners out and days at home with the fam. And don’t forget your nails!

Faux Fur

An easy to wear, cosy and stylish cover up for glam and chilly nights out that adds significant pizazz to your ensemble without pushing it way over the top. Those sequins and metallic need softening out, and a neutral colored faux fur sleeveless vest, stole or jacket is just the ticket. The ideal accessory for dressing up or down, the faux fur vest looks great with a plaid flannel shirt and jeans by day, too.

Tulle and Pleats

Taking couture inspo from the catwalks of London Fashion Week, introduce a flurry of feminine tulle into your party look – there are lots of dresses incorporating pretty ballerina-style tulle skits with sequin tops around at the moment. Alternatively, throw in some preppy pleats with your metallic hues for a look that’s chic, tailored and on-trend.
