Florals in the winter? We say “yes!” Here’s a look at one Sloanie blogger who is breaking down the dos and don’ts of winter florals.
Hey, Sloanies! My name is Amanda Bowlds, I am a Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger based in Lexington, KY. I started blogging because I have a strong passion for the fashion industry and I have always loved to keep up with any new trend that comes out. I went to school at WKU for Design and I’m here to share my knowledge with you all!
Recently, I have been dropping hints on Instagram about this wonderful post! I have been working so hard on this to get to y’all! All of you have seen the title – “How to Wear Florals in Winter,” well I’m here to discuss those tips with you. Winter is such a cold and dark time of year, but I don’t want to put away all my pretty summer and spring outfits away just because it’s sweater season. Plus, your wardrobe may be the only place you see those pretty blooms until spring arrives. To solve my dilemma, I came up with different ways to wear those cute little floral tops and dresses all year long!
Most of your floral prints are super busy, so you have to choose your prints and fabrics wisely. Keep your florals on the darker color scheme. Choose your fabrics wisely too! Cotton and linen are good fabrics for the weather in June, but when it comes to December, and January these fabrics won’t cut it on those chilly days. For the winter months, opt for cashmere or velvet – loving that this fad is back! Long sleeves are also a plus.
