Tassel Time – Guest Post

Despite what you may have previously heard, you won’t only find tassels in your grandmother’s closet these days. You’re starting to see this trend everywhere and they’re a great way to add some movement, texture and even some unexpected color to your everyday outfits. Since we’re all still in that transition phase from winter to spring (which isn’t happening fast enough, in my opinion), adding just a little something special to your accessories is a great way to brighten things up. There are several ways to add a little fringe to your Spring style and my three favorites are: on my shoes, in my jewelry box and accessorizing my accessories.

Tassel Toes

tassels on loafers are a trending sloane ranger fashion style

When I was growing up, I remember my dad having a pair of loafers with tassels on them and I never thought I’d be copying him on that trend all these years later. From pointy toes at Prada to suede styles at J.Crew, there are lots of great tasseled styles to choose from and will take you from work to weekend.

In Your Jewelry Box

I remember first seeing a pair of tassel earrings a few years ago and taking a little while to warm up to them. Now I think they’re a perfect statement earring and perfect for spring or summer in a pretty turquoise, pink or metallic. A tassel necklace is also a fun way to add some sparkle and texture to your outfit. I prefer a longer style that can be layer with some other necklaces to keep things interesting and also work with more outfits.

Accessorizing Your Accessories

I love the idea of attaching a tassel to your everyday tote to add a pop of color. From totes to clutches, adding a tassel gives you the opportunity to personalize your bag depending on the occasion or day. Not to mention, it is darn near preppy perfection when paired with a monogram.
