The Beauty Buzz From LDN

sloane ranger style beauty tips direct from the london runway

Hot on the (designer) heels of our ‘Travel Like a Sloanie’ article last week, we’re still obsessing over that Mulberry pouch and putting together our wish-lists for the ultimate Sloanie beauty regime. And if London Fashion Week taught us anything it’s that faces are looking fresh and flawless this season, with strong and natural brows (we know who to thank for that), translucent skin, and nude lips. Hair was windswept and nails were all glossy pinks and earthy mochas.  In essence, this look is all about playing to your natural talents and keeping it real.  And that, Sloanies, is just our cup of tea. Here are some of our top Sloanie beauty tips. Let that natural beauty shine…

Nobody owns the flawless look quite like Brit model Suki Waterhouse, and now we know her secret. Suki regularly checks into the Waterhouse Young therapy clinic just off London’s exclusive Harley Street for a HydraFacial. Also popular with the London elite and the King’s Road set, this rejuvenating treatment gently removes dead cells, infuses the skin with antioxidants and leaves the face noticeably brighter, tighter and clearer. Ooh, Sloanie wants

Blush It Up

Sloanie stunner Emma Watson is often snapped out and about looking radiant without a scrap of make up on, but when she does indulge in a bit of extra help, she swears by Stila’s Convertible Color lip and cheek tint. Emma’s color of preference is Fuschia, a bright and cheeky pink that gives this English Rose a lovely natural glow. Blooming gorgeous!

Spa Haircut

There’s a huge trend for holistic therapies in London at the moment, and British boho-Sloane Sienna Miller goes to Gina Conway’s Aveda Salon and Spa where they use gorgeous aromatherapy candles and all-natural colour products. An optional extra here at this salon based in Notting Hill and the King’s Road is an Indian head massage or a botanical facial – a popular way for busy Sloanies to fit a little pampering into their packed-out schedules.

Shellac Nails

Flawless manicures are all about Shellac in the UK. Forget trashy-looking falsies and French tips that chip within hours of leaving the salon, Shellac is a nail-friendly product that can be applied quickly and requires none of the laborious sculpting and filing involved with gel nails. Talons at Burberry, Mulberry and Orla Kiely were coffee-colored, nude and pink at London Fashion Week, and we’re going crazy for CND’s Powder My Nose and Butter London’s Yummy Mummy right now.

Yves Saint Laurent

Two items no Sloanie gal can do without are her YSL Touche Éclat and Shocking Volume Mascara. The first is a lovely light concealer for dark circles, spots and impurities with a luxurious brush tip for easy application. YSL’s mascara lasts for ages, never clumps and smells good enough to eat… trust us! Both of these magic golden wands are backstage saviors at fashion shows the world over. Need we say more..?

  • Mine is Batiste dry shampoo – a godsend!! I’m not sure if it’s big in the States but I always have a mini can in my handbag in case my hair gets a bit lank during the day when I’m out and about. My second must-have is natural eyelash extensions. Addicted!
